WEDDINGS

A wedding celebrated at the home of the bride, was that of Miss Doris Tatham, 'of "Homewood,". Mastcrton, who was married to Mr. Ronald Barnford, England. The drawing-room was beautifully decorated with masses of flowers, a wedding bell adding much to the general appearance. ■ The Rev. Whitby James officiated, and the music was provided by Miss Mario Kurnmer and Mrs. Arthur Bunny. Tho bride was accompanied by her' uncle, 'Mr. F. Bunny, and was in a ch-araiing. frock of cream georgette and lace, with -a large cluster of orange blossom at one side. The-tulle'vcih was caught with orange blossoms, and a bouquet of white flowers finished the toilette. The bridesmaids ■ were the'''Misses 1 Yvonne Gibson;. Misses Gwen Morrell and Irene Gray were bridesmaids, wearing pretty apple-grenn frocks of georgette, with silver tissue toques. Three charming little flower-girls, Ruth Catherall (sister), Gladys Hitchings, and Ruth Catherall (niece) were, in pale- pink crepe de chine frocks, with pink and silver head bandsj.these were train-bearers, and carried' dainty baskets of pink flowers and maidenhair. fern; Mr. Stanley .J. Catherall was best man, and Mr., Frank ,R. She carried a bouquet of mauve sweet sultans, chrysanthemums, and roses, with streamers of,the,-same hue. The Misses Margaret Turner- . (Wallaeeville) and Doris Hublitz (Petone), also attended, tho former wearing a gown of apricot georgette, with tulle -■ head-dress to match, the effect ibcing- completed with a bouquet of autumn-tinted '-flowers' and foliage, and tho-latter a frock df Elizabeth blue shadow, lace over satin, also with tulle head-dress, with a contrasting bouquet of pink flowers. The two flower-girls, Jean . Sharp (Matamata) and Rosa Emenys (Bunnythorpe), wore dainty frocks of green crepe de ehinewith panels of gold lace. They carried baskets of flowers to tone, and were train-bearers to tlje bride. The bridesmaids wore . .crystal necklaces, I and the flower:girls gold armlets, the gift of the bridegroom. Mr. Alex Mac--1 farlane was best man, and Messrs. B. Sharpe and J. Jeffries were groomsmen. As the bridal party left the church, little Valeric Vuglar presented the bride with' a floral horseshoe. All the floral decorations were carried out most artistically by Mrs. M' Ghie. The reception which followed was most enjoyable, and over 150 guests were received at the Labour Hall by the bride's mother,, who wort a gown of black georgette and lace, with a black hat trimmed with ospreys, her bouquet being of crimsonl dahlias and anemones. The reception room was decorated ■ in shades of pink, mauve, and white, while tho bride, and bridegroom sat under a beautiful wedding bell of white satin trimmed with-silver, the work of Mrs G. D. Campbell, of Wellington. During the evening Mr. J. V. Byan sang two pleasing tenor solos, accompanied by Miss Mary Bolton, Afterwards, in the mam hall, dancing to excellent music was enjoyed. Among the guests were Mrs. C. 801 l (grandmother of tho bride), wearing black satin and Spanish lace, with a bouquet of mauve flowers Later Mr., and Mrs. W. A. Smith left on an extensivemotor tour of the North Island, the , bride's travelling 'dress being of brown beaute satin, with brown felt hat and coat of brown cloth.
