Ernest Leighton, Ltd., report that"-at the/sale held in their rooms, 14, Brandon street, on Wednesday hist, •when they offered a selection of municipal properties on: behalf of .the Lower Hu.tt Borou'jjh Council, there was a largo attend-ance,-the keen ,interest-and bidding resulting, in a highly successful sale. All the business sites on the eastern side ot the Hutt Bridge, were sold, the following price's' being realised:—Lot 15, corner Ward street and Woburn road, 10.1G perches, i £2500; lot 1, iWard street, 5.98 perches, £528; /lot 2, Ward sweet, 11.41 perches, £660; lot 3,/ Ward street, 11.61 perches, £060; lot 4, Ward street, 12.12 perches,'£66o; lot-5, Ward street, 12.12 perches,.JE66o,-lot:6, Ward street, 12.12 •per/'hes, - £660; lot 7, Ward street, 12.12 ' porches, £660; lot 8, Ward street, 12.12 fjercheni,' £660. The" aywagc price was river £12,352 an' acre. For house sites the following prices were realised:—Lot fl, Market street, 20.04 perches, £4.00; lot 11, Afarket-street-, 20.11 perches, £250; lot 18, Victoria.street, 19.59 perches, £475. The valuable section at the corner of Kiverbank street arid the new bridge did not quite reach the! reserve and was passed Jn, as were the other business sites in Victoria street. The auctioneers have the properties for private sale.
