M'Laglcn is Captain Lash, a sobriquet conferred because <>1 his relentless way of. driving his stokers aboard an ocean liner. His* particular pal Is Cocky a diminutive seaman, played by the English comedian, Clyde Cook. Off ship' Captain Lash is lovable, generous, with his money, and frankly, a "chaser" and ever as ready to fight as to mako love. Ho and' Cocky have had a wild orgy in Sydney while the ship is coaling to bo to Singapore. They reach tho ship just as the gangplank is about to be pulled up. Lash is intrigued by a pair of pretty" ankles as their owner, Clairo Windsor, goes aboard: The ship sets sail, and Lash once again is im the stokehold driving his men furiously, us the captain escorts a group of the cabin passengers below on an inspection tour. Among the sightseers is the girl witli the. pretty ankles, and she and Lash meet through an unusual incident.
