A WEEK-END CHANGE
The northern cyclone is still centred off the Bay of Plenty, but its intensity, as, that also of a depression advancing across the southern part of the Tasnian, hasidecreased. As a result, the south.erly and easterly winds prevalent from 'Cook Strait northward have also decreased. Thick, and misty weather with widespread fogs, has continued .generally, with further rain over most 'of the North Island. Nelson, Marlborough, and North Canterbury have had scattered : rain, but in Wetland anc i Otago it has chiefly, been fair. Last night heavy . rain fell on the east coast of the North Island and in central districts, also at Blenheim. At Pak'ihiroa, in Tologa Bay, no fewer than 585 points of rain were recorded, over two inches falling in the vicinity of \ Opotiki. . . . ..
