EASTBOURNE RUGBY NOTES
For their first season in the senior A grado Eastbourne made quite a commendable showing last year; and tho benefit of that experience is likely to bo reflected in tho performances of the team this season. The ' Eastbourne players will again have tho services of E. 'Roberts as coach, and it is probablo that J. Moffit, another. ex-New Zealand representative, will also lend a hand in giving instruction to tho forwards. As in tho case of other clubs, Eastbourne aro now in tho process of trying "out their pluyeis, :uid it may not'bo for a week or so that the senior fifteen is definitely known. Most of last year's players aro carrying on, and the club has enrolled quite a number of new members, somo of whom should get into tho senior, team. Murray, Martin, tho Foleys, llull-Brown and other backs are again available, but a loss to the rearguard is -Clark, full-back, who has been transferred to Dunedin.
With Cullimore, Duncan, Beid, Thompson, Price, Pudney and other promising forwards again on hand, Eastbourne should have no difficulty in building up a,good pack. ' ' . .Among the new members of the club are: —Dinniss, tho ex;Taran'aki player who has, changed'; over'fron Orienta;; Peacock, a big forward from Auckland Grammar Old Boys;-Maingay, an Auckland University five-eighth; and Thorn, a full-back from Waikato. .
