A TRICK TO TRY.
Place four matches ou the .table in the form of a square, and then hand the box to your chum. Tell him to make nine.squares with the smallest number, of matches possible. He will probably use 24 matches, and will be surprised when you tell him that you can make nine squares with eight matches. The second sketch ■ shows how it is done.
