In a report to the directors of. the Wathi Mine, on,principal operations carried out in' the mine during , the period ending 9th February, the acting-superin-tendent, Mr. Hopkins, stated that at No. 10 level, Regina section, 1 Martha lode, north crosscut was driven 49% ft, connecting to Martha lode workings. :At 16ft; there was quartz 2%ft wide, assaying 30s 8d per ton. At 22ft, there was 4ft of quartz assaying 35s 9d per ton. At 37ft there was lft of quartz assaying 5s 8d per ton. Driving west on the vein gave an assay value to:.6sft of 49s'4d per ton. No. 9 level, Regina section, Martha lode; East drive continued to 150 ft in a mixture :of quartz and country. Average assay value from 105 to 150 ft, 39s 2d per ton. In western end, south crosscut at 118 ft driven 53% ft. At 2Gft, loose rubbly quartz, assaying 2s pet' ton. Driving west commenced on this, assay, value very low. Worthington N.E. crosscut diverted southeast and at 281 ft, and Empire lode met and penetrated 1 12% ft. Average assay value for the first 7ft of this width 67s 6d per ,ton. A crosscut' driven south 13ft holed to floor of Grand Junction No. 5 level. -At 9ft in crosscut penetrated quartz,for-4ft, assay value 44s lid per ton.
