RADIUM SUBSIDY
AN INCREASE .PROMISED
(Special to "The Evening Post") DUNEDIN, This Day. A deputation from the Otago University Council and the Otago Hospital and Charitable Aid Board. asked the Prime Minister yesterday that the Government subsidy on gifts of money for the purchase of radium should be increased to £1 for £1 as was formerly the case, instead of 10s in the pound as is the case at present.' The Prime Minister promised, to give immed;atc">auth.ority for increasing the subsidy tc £1 for .-£1 for twelve months. ■ • ' Other matters mentioned by the same deputation wore the question of a grant for the proposed obstetric hospital in Dunedin and the question of an increased Government contribution to the upkeep of the Dunedin Hospital on account of its association with tho medics,! school. The Prime Minister promised to giv*j attention to these matters on'-Sis return to Wellington. ■ '
