•THE PRESIDENT RE-ELECTED
(By Telegraph.) (Special to "The Evening Post.") ■ CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Some heated discussion was caused at the annual meeting of the Canterbury Eugby League last night by a proposal to elect Dr. Thackcr patron. "I won't accept," said Dr. Thacker. "A patron is a dud business." Two others were nominated, but also declined, and the position was left open, the meeting proceeding to elect a president. Dr. Thacker was nominated. "I •will nominate Mr. Winter Cole," said, the secretary, Mr. Richardson. "The doctor has been president for many years, and I think a change would do no harm. I move a ballot on the question. 1' Dr. Thacker: "No; sudden' death." On a show of hands Dr. Thacker was elected president. Mr. J. Vivian', was elected patron. ■ ' ■ / ■ .
