ROADING SETTLEMENT
MONEY FROM PETROL TAX
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) HAMILTON, This Day. A Hamilton branch' of the Land Settlement League was formed last night at a, well-attended meeting held under the auspices of the Chamber of Commerce. Mr. G. W. Richards, former chairman of the deteriorated lands committee, said he thought that it would be necessary to reduce the costs of settlement. The petrol tax would help considerably by making it possible to give good roading without placing too heavy a rate burden on the farms. Adequate money for roading could be provided by capitalising the revenue from the pet- ' rol tax,
