ROWING
THE EIGHT-OAK KAGB
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.)
CHEISTCHUBCH, This Day.
The Marlborough and Otago eightoar crews for the intorpi'ovincial race to-morrow arrived in Christehurch last ■evening. The Wellington crew will reach Lyttcltoh to-morrow morning. Mr. A. J. Maclainc, coach of the Marlborough crew, stated last night that, as president of the "New Zealand llowing Association, he was very pleased to see that all the South Island centres, as well as Wellington, would be represented in the race. He had believed that Auckland would be coming down, but probably the expense was the stumbling block. Bowing was a peculiar sport, in that it was seldom that a "gate" could be collected. The sport had to depend to a great extent on the enthusiasm and finance of the active participants. . '
