LATE MR. W. E. BETHUNE

The high esteem in which the late Mr. Walter Kllis Bethune. was held by all sections of the community was reflected in the large, number who attended the funeral service held at' St. Peter's Church this afternoon, preparatory to the funeral cortege leaving for Kaiori. Every branch of activity with which the late Mr. Bethune was associated was represented, those present including Sir Robert Stout, Sir John Luke, Mr. J. Hislop, Mr. E. P. Yaldwin, Mr. G. P. Natusch, Mr. J. M. Griffiths (secretary of the Wellington Racing Club), Mr. J. R. Palmer, Mr. A. F. Wiren (president of the Wellington Rugby Union), Mr. IT. E. Evans, Mr. H. Amos, Mr. J. Parker, Mr. R. Darroch, Mr. W, W. Cook, Mr. T. K. Cresswoll, Mr. E. G. Pilcher, Mr. D. G. A. Cooper, Mr. Duubar Sloane, Mr. A, J. Toogood, and many others. ■ # . '
