TRENTHAM TRACK NOTES
A' 'QUIET MORNINC4
The training tracks grasd and plough wore in as nearly perfect condition as possible lit Trentham-this morning, but there were lew horses to take advantage of them. No visitors had arrived, although a few arc expected to-day. The centre of the trial grass was in use, and tho horses wore timed from a post which made them run slightly over the distances named. Unless rain falls the course-proper will provide ideal .galloping on Saturday. It has been decided to permit horses to work on the outside of the course proper later in the week for a fee of £1, with a penalty of £5 for auy malpractice, such as cutting corners or coming inside trestles. • ■
.Endorse was the first to work, and was out before the light was sumdeut-to time her sprint. . "■ Becky Sharp and Kilstar finished together over half a. mile in 51 l-ssec. Kilstar finished on well.
Tea Queen and Dresden China ran half a mile in 51sec. Dresden China is improving. Matu tantered a couple of- rounds, sprinting'down tho'straight. First Money was always going better than Duellona over five furlongs in lmin 4sec, the last four in S^see. First Money showed a good deal of pace and galloped well. He will race in new interests on Saturday, for his purchase was completed yesterday by the local well-known lawyer Mr. J. J. M'Grath. This is' Mr. M'Grath's first venture. J. M'Laughlm will continue to train the Paper Money colt. ■
Sapient alone, after . going slowly over the first two furlongs, ran five furlongs in lmiu 4%sec, the last half-mile taking 50 3-ssec: Like all Kilbroneys, she appears to be taking time, but she is a rare galloper. . ' ■ Roi de Val was always too good for Footpad over seven furlongs in lmin 32 3-ssec, the first half-mile taking 52sec. Footpad appears to be a lazy worker. Roi de Val has never looked better.
■ Lady Rene was let off with an easy task. ■ ■ • • Crash, on the outside, was going as well as Push at the end of a half-mile sprint in 49 3-ssec. This was the best of the morning. Inferno, going fairly quietly down to the half-mile post, sprinted home in sO/& sec.
Black Mint, looking very bright and well, strode round to the three furlong post with Araeino and sprinted home. Quantum was 'sprinted and put plenty of dash into his work. Glare, and. the two-year-old Hunting Day galloped well over half a mile, but were not timed. . The following trainers have booked accommodation for their teams: M. J. Carroll 3 horses, J.
