ORPHEUS SOCIETY
A special meeting of the Orpheus Musi< cal Society was held last night, the principal business being the apointment of ft conductor. Mr. J. \V. Carr presided. The secretary (Mr. Robson) said that after the resignation of Mr. L. Burnes* they had sought another conductor without success, except in one case, where the honorarium asked could not be guaranteed. The finances, while not in a bad way, wera "not flourishing. Several names were mentioned as thos« of possible conductors, and these are to be interviewed. • ■
