REGENT THEATRE.
"Excess Baggage," tho principal feature of the new programmo at tUe ltegcnt, is a romanco of the vaudeville stage, portraying tho trlbula- i tlona of a screen star's husband and revealing a new William Haincs. from the optimism of youth deeply in love to the sharpest dramatic crisis, the story of "Excess Baggage" runs the whole gamut of liuninn emotion. Tho shifting scenes range from small-town theatres to the glittering stages of New York, clubs, and tho lavish homo and entertainments of a motion picture star; and tho story, strong in itself, thrills again and again with Haines in new stunts, especially Ills spectacular "death-defy-ing slide" from the domo of a theatre to tho stage below. To adventure-loving motion picture goers everywhere, Tim M'Coy is the embodiment of artistic sincerity. With "The Bushranger," also coming to the ltegent to-day, lie achieves his triumph, as lie has caught the adventurous spllrt of early Australian busliraiiging days with a fidelity which will convince all that M'Coy pictures are, without exception, highly individualised productions. M'Coy handles tho starring role with his customary facility, showing marked adroitness with boomerang, horse, and gun. Tho "atmosphere" of early Australia is so astonishingly real, tonal production could not havo Improved it one iota. Keg. ("Snowy") Baker and other well-known Australians acted as technical advisors. Marion Douglas, formerly known as Edna Gregory, of Manly, • New South Wales, and Dale Austen ("Miss New Zealand, 1327") are also in Uie cast. The highly successful season of Gautier's "Dog Bricklayers" has been extended until next Tuesday, with matinees to-morrow (Saturday) and on Monday and Tuesday.
