WASESTOWN FLOWERS
AN EXCELLENT SHOW
The. Wiulcstown Cottage Gurdcu and Beautifying Society hold a very successful show in tho Parish Hull last night. The high standard of tho exhibits was remarked upon by Mr. C. 11. Chapman, M.P., who. was introduced by Mr. 11. Baillie (president), and who opened the show. Mr. Chapman also mentioned tho asset the district had in tho Parish Hall, which was so suitablo for such exhibitions. Mrs. Chapman, received a posy from Master K. Blake. The awards were made by Mr. F. W. Westbury (flowers, fruit, and vegetables), Miss M. Christian (home products), and Miss Murray (decorative work), and were as follow:— Cut Mowers.—Miss Battersby, two firsts; F. T. Clive, one first; Mrs. M'Pherson and Miss Simpson, each one second. Flowers.—Mrs. Sirett,. six firsts, five seconds; Miss Battersby, five firsts, four seconds; Mrs. Gordon, two firsts; Mrs. M'Pherson, two seconds; Mrs. Simpson, ono second. Fruit. —Miss M'Donald, two firsts; Miss Battersby, one first, one second; Mrs. Munro, one first. Novice Class.—Twelve flowers, Miss Stanaway, 1; six asters, Miss A. Brown, Decorative Class.—Miss Watkins and Miss Munvo, each one first, one 1 second; Mrs. Francis and A. M'Donald, each one first; Mrs. M'Donald, two seconds; M. Connor, ono second; C. Connor, one third. Vegetables.—Miss Battersby, nine firsts; G. Nash, four firsts, three seconds, one third; Mrs. Sirett, two firsts; Mrs. Simpson, three seconds; Miss Gordon, A. Parlane, F.'-T. Clere, each ono first, one second; D. Stafford, one first, one third; Mrs. Lawry, T. F. Hutchinson, each one first; Mrs. Blake, W. H. Allan, H. Hailwood, each one second. Home Products.—^Mrs. Gordon, five firsts, five seconds; Mrs. Stanaway, three firsts, three seconds; Mrs. M'Pherson, three firsts, one second; Mrs, Parlane, one 'first, thi'ee seconds; Miss Lawry, Mrs. J. J. Connor, each one first; Mrs. Sinipson, two firsts; Mi's. Decorative class: Mrs. Munroe holds Williamson Shield for one year. Home products: Mrs. Gordon, 1; Mrs. Stanaway, 2. Novice class: Mrs. Stanaway and.j Mrs. A. Brown divide Mr. R. A. Nicolas special prize. ■ The quality of the vegetable, .-and home product exhibits was particularly stressed by the judges.
