FIRE BOARD
TO-DAY'S MEETING
The monthly meeting of the Wellington Fire Board was held to-day, the chairman (Mr. M. W. Nelson) presiding. There were also present: Messrs. R. W. M'Villy, S. S. Dean, W. A. Parton, H. D. Bennett, M. Marks, and J. Creeke (superintendent). The estimated expenditure for the twelve months to 31st March; 1930, was £30,400. Of this, wages amounted to £12,738; salaries (superintendent and deputy), £1030; uniforms, £50; lighting,- heating, and firing, £500; maintenance of electric installations and alarms, £500; motor spirits, etc., £300; motor repairs and maintenance, £250; repairs to plant, £300.; repairs to buildings and properties, £150; station stores and brigade sundries, £350; insurance, £750; legal expenses, £450; interest, £500; secretary and office sundries, £350; special plant and replacements, £730; to Wellington City Council, instalments of purchase money (plant £532, properties and buildings £4000), £4532; instalment to bank for payment of overdraft incurred' for purchase of plant and new station sites. and buildings, £6000; payment to capital . expenditure fund, £1000, '
