VISIT-TO BLENHEIM | '■ ■ I (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) . 1 ; BLENHEIM, 6th March. Concluding his tour of the South Island, the Hon. J. 8., Donald, Post-master-General, arrived this afternoon from Kaikoura, and was accorded a civic welcome on tho occasion of his first official'visit to Blenheim. Responding* to the welcome, Mr. Donald said that he had learned a great deal about the South Island during the trip. "I have travelled from north to south and. back again, not through the West Coast, it is true, but what I have seen surprised me beyond measure. I am sure the South has just as much, if not more, to be proud of as we have in the North. It has wonderful possibilities. lam glad of this, because we have thought ;the North-tho only place that wanted population." After receiving a number of deputations the Minister, as the Government representative, attended the old identities' dinner in celebration of the diamond jubilee of the Borough of Blenheim. He leaves for Wellington to-morrow.
