A tender'has been accepted by the Wellington Education Board for the erection of a manual centre at the Featherstou District High School. This will provide for tlic instruction of boys in woodwork and girls in homo sciencefrom IVatlierston and several adjoining schools. Until now these courses have had to be taken at Grey town. Messrs. Watson and Johnston, of Fcatliersto'n, are the contractors. The tender of Messrs'. Norman and Jennings has been accepted by the board for the erection of a headmaster's room and storeroom at the new Waiwhetu School.
