NAPIER TO-MORROW
MY-OWNi | READS WELL The Napier Park Meeting, to be opened to-morrow, has a good class of horse engaged, and the prospects are for a much better meeting than usual. The acceptors include horses from as far afield as Trentham.. . The track at Napier is usually in good order even in dry weather, because of natural irrigation. In addition a light rain has fallen. Proceedings will open with.the - ■ ■ ; . • . .■•'■■ OMARANUI HANDICAP HURDLES, of 150 soys; one mile and three-quarters. - ' stlb st lb Diana's Lad ■ 10 12 Abisogne 9 6 Panorama ... 10 .6 First Prince . 90 Crishna ..... 10 2 Mandarine .. 9 0 Braeman ...'. 9 7 Panorama and Braeman are likely to divide favouritism. Panorama extended Noyar. on the second day at Woodville, and Braeman' ran two excellent races on the flat at Dannevirke.' ESK HACK HANDICAP, of 130 sots; six furlongß. ' ' ... Delude/ Bernera, and Sylvan Dell are all likely to be;iu demand, for they represent winning form. Of tli c light-weights Tom Byrne and Imperial' Fame may be possibilities.. Bernera and Sylvan' Dell have the most attractive form, and with Bernera not too reliable as yet at the barrier, Sylvan Dell is the best proposition on paper. Her winning effort at Dannevirke, after being stopped in the straight, was realty commendable. Lordlike and Royal Parade are improvers, and Ex Dono is also in*the same class. At the same time My Own, appeals most of this field. Commendation is fit yet to run a solid mile and a quarter is doubtfu?. Joy King is well at present, and reads like a possibility, for he can run a solid mile. White Fang seems better at that distance, too, but at 8.2 he cannot be discarded. The Gisborne representative Singleton is a very useful galloper. Concentrate probably will need the race, for he has had a short'let-up. Blimp should bo suited by the. track. Of the lightweights. High Court will be in demand. Blimp, White Fang,, and High Court may do best. ■■.-.- AUTUMN HANDICAP, of 150 soys; seven fur- ■ . Merry Mint should be a much fitter horse for his racing at Woodvillc, and with 131b

Merry Damon and Rapine.are passed by, and Moa Bird may need the race. Kaihoro is nicely weighted, and reads well in. If Merry Mint is reserved for this event he may show up well. Jeannette, with 7 stone, may sprint well, for her form on occasions has been attractive. Kaihoro, Bonogne, and Jeannette maybe the best.
