W.E.A. SEASON.
One of tho most important branches, of educational -work in this country is that which fosters and encourages adult education, for 1 it is essential, if a community ;W, to acquire a broad outlook in regard ;to' education,. dud maintain 'a hig.U;standard: of training for' the' yourifeer>. generation, that its individual members should strive to gain a thorough understanding of -modern social and economic problems and learn to express ■ themselves in a clear and logical manner. The W.B.A. is the only medium in . New. Zealand which offers free education, to all adult students who wish to , develop their personalities and make the best possible use of their leisure hours. Its progress during the last ten years has been remarkable. Last year IS2 classes were formed throughout the country, and 6692 members enrolled. Tlie 192!) session of the W.E.A. in Wellington City will open: on Saturday night next, when Professor G.,W. Yon. Zedlitz will commence'a'short course of four lectures on "Charles Dickens" in. "the Council Chamber of. the Trades Hall, Marion street, at 8 o'clock. All who are interested in a study of "the life and works of the great Victorian writer who.did so.much to ameliorate'the social conditions of his day , are cordially, invited ..to be present. A small fee will be charged; for admission.
