RUGBY, 4th March,

Admiral.of Fleet Sir Edward Seymour died during the week-end from influenza, aged 89. He was senior Admiral of Fleet and; senior Member of the Order of Merit. His naval career was extremely distinguished, extending over 58 years, and he was the only British naval officer ever to command a force from eight nations during warlike operations. This occurred in 1900 during the effort to help the beseiged Pekin Legations during tho Boxer risings.
