ARTCRAFT THEATRE.
Syd. Chanlhj in.his latest comedy, "Skirts," now showing at tho Artcraft Theatre, is just one long, loud laugh.. Tho film starts with Chaplin attempting to aid his wife and mother-in-law as they pack for a vacation trip, aiid ends .with their return amid a hailstorm of flying fists. In tho interim there are some wildly amusing comedy chases, a trick dog, a splendid cabaret oceue, one ot Syu. Chaplin's juntlv famous female Impersonations, and a host of other laughable matters. The cast is a splendid one. Betty Balfour, one'of London's most noted actresses, has tho leading feminine role, and proves to be a talented comedienne. The second plcturo is "Lost In the Arctic," a record of amazing adventures in the far North.
