Police cases in the Magistrate's Court to-day were" dealt- with by Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M. ..';'•.
One first-offending inebriate was -fined. the amount of his bail, 10s. A labourer, Alfred Needham, aged 49, was fined ss, in default twenty-four hours' imprisonment, for drunkenness, and £1, in default three days' imprisonment, for using indecent language. A remand ,to appear at' Auckland .on 15th March was: granted in the case of Thomas Tuohy, alias Bob Hearn, aged 46, who is charged; with carrying on business as a bookmaker at Auckland, and failing also to provide adequate maintenance for his wife. ; ',:.
