AUCKLAND SPLIT ENDED
CONSTITUTION AMENDED
(By Telegraph.) (Special to' "The Evening Post.")
AUCKLAND, This Day.
Clubs will have direct representation on*'the various committees and the' Control Board of the Auckland "Football Association.as. the result of the. adop-. tiori of several important constitutional amendments at a special general meetjug of the association last evening. The chairman, Mr. .A. Meiizies, pointed out that the amendments were, proposed by a committee of business men, who had thoroughly investigated, the deadlock which had arisen between the Auckland Football Association and the Auckland City and Suburban Football Association. The business men" had further expressed ,the opinion that the dispute with the Thistle Club would not have arisen had the association been» constituted on different lines, and they, had brought forward the proposals as a basis of reconciliation. As far as the Auckland-Football Association was concerned 'discussion on the! proposals was only possible after affiliation had been applied for by the four clubs which constituted the. Auckland City and Suburban Association. Although the period allowed for the application of the clubs concerned had been considerably exceeded, these were now to hand. The chairman felt that it would be better to overlook the delay and give all the clubs an. opportunity, to express their views on the proposed alterations. ■
The various club delegates complained that insufficient time had been allowed for a discussion of the proposals, but a motion to defer the matter for three months was defeated.- .
Under the now constitution all the teams playing' under the association will be arranged in grades, grouped in the following divisions: Senior division, comprising all teams in the senior grade; junior division, comprising all teams below senior grade, but having no age .or>other limit fc|- players; and a minor division composed of all teams having age or other limits ,for players, together with all school, teams. The affairs of the association will be managed by: a control board consisting of two members elected, by and from the senior division ' committee, one member each from the junior division committee, and 'the Referees' Asßociation, and two members from the minor division committee, one being from the clubs and one from tho schools. Five members will be elected by the club delegates at.the- annual general meeting. ' : I ' ' / ■;■, :
