FORCING AND UTTERING
. Percy William Solly, aged 43, "and Prank Blackham, aged 35, pleaded guilty in the Magistrate *s Court to-day to having forged and uttered a cheaue for £25. H
Evidence was given that Solly, after I the cheque had been filled in, called on a doctor and said he was suffering from .varicose veins. The doctor examined 'him and charged a fee of 10s 6d. Solly presented the cheque, and the doctor gave the accused the change. ' Wheu, however, the doctor tendered'the cheque at the bank on which it was drawn it was returned marked "no account."
The two.accused were committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. •
Blackham also pleaded guilty to having stolen six blank cheque forms and a gold ring, valued at £2 Is, and Solly to two charges of false pretences, involving £8 10s. The accused said they did not wish to be'dealt 'vith on these charges until they had appeared in tho Supreme Court'on the other offence, and, accordingly, they were remanded for fourteen days for sentence.
