PLUNKET. "SHIELD MATCH

The opinion that there was need of a revision of the rules governing the Phmket Shield competition was expressed by the Management Committee of the Wellington Cricket Association last night when a letter was received from the New. Zealand Cricket Council asked whether the. association had any suggestions to make in tho matter of revising. the rules, 'Details of the points allotted in the Austra-: Hun Sheffield Shield competition, and in English county cricket were given by the council. - ; . ;

There was a brief discussion on the subject, during which the advisability of arranging home and home matches was mentioned. It was decided' to forward the committee's opinion to the council, and state that suggestions would be forwarded at a later date. A protest by the Kilbiynie Club's third A team against the action of the Stop Out team's captain in drawing stumps before the stated time was referred to the Stop Out Cub for an explanation. Advice has been received by the secretary of the Wellington Cricket Association (Mr. A. Varney) that the North Taranaki Association is unable to receive a visit from a' Wellington team during Easter. Arrangements will now be made to send a Wellington team to Master-ton to play Wairarapa on Easter Saturday and Monday.
