The monthly meeting of the Eoyal New Zealand Society for the Health of Women and Children was held on Friday. The warm dry spell of weather has brought many • temporary digestive' upsets amongst the babies. Fortunately most mothers nowadays realise that this condition must not be allowed to persist and deal with it at once, many losing no time in reporting: the condition and seeking advice. 'The attendance at" the several suburban and ■outstations' rooms : has' ■ been excellent. This decentralising, .scheme hasbeen a great boon to the mothers and increases the efficiency of the nurses' work. ' The report of the 'matron Of Ti'uby King Karitane Hospital showed:—Number of; cases admitted for the month ending 28th February, 8 mothers and 11. babies; 10 mothers and 20 babies were discharged from the hospital "during the month. There were 350 visitors, including many ieading medical men from all. parts of the Dominion with their wives;.also Sir James Barrett and Dr. Douglas Thomas, of Mel-, bourne. Mrs. Buekleton and Miss Truby King were thanked for old linen, Mrs. Hott for old blankets and a case of apples, Mrs. Derek for tomatoes,-Sir Truby King for ■ vegetables, Miss Vikerman for raspberries and flowers, Mrs. M'Eldownay for blankets and old linen, and Mrs. Wilson ior cotton wool. .
