LORRY AND CAR

COLLISION NEAR LONGBURN

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) PALMEBSTON N., This Day. A serious collision occurred this morning on Longburn road, three-quar-ters of a. mile from- Lougburn town-ship,-between a heavily-laden lorry and a five-seater ear containing 'four occupants. The impact was heard half a mile away. The car was completely wrecked and the lorry extensively damaged. The occupants of tho car were all injured about the head and face, and all were taken to hospital. The lorry-driver was not injured. . Harper,, the driver of the car, was accompanied by' Misses Brooke Taylor, of Baincsse, and a> Highi School girl. Details of the injuries are not available at present. Audrey Brooke-Taylor, aged 17, sustained a broken jaw, a broken clavicle, cuts on the face, and probably internal, injuries. Lois Brooke-Taylor, aged 15, was soverely cut on the lip, and suffered, minor injuries. Kahua Pauanga, aged 12, suffered severe abrasions on the body, numerous cuts, and lost several teeth. Charles Harper, aged 57 sustained scalp wounds and injuries to a leg. All are progressing satisfactorily.
