THE TREND OF PRICES

. . NAPIER, This Day. Prices on a level with the last Wellington sale and slightly above Wanganui were realised'at the fourth Napier sale to-day. The catalogue of 28,000 ' balea drew a bench of nearly eighty buyers. The market; although steady, was, not animated and passings were frequent. Compared with the last Napier sale prices in general fell- about one penny. Lambs' wool sold well, reaching up to 20d-and bellies and pieces ran to 13V£d. Hogget wool.f however, quitted at. 12d to 18d, and halfbred and crossbred, from 13d to 10d. French, and English buyers were fairly active with American, New Zealand, and Australians competing for the leaser qualities. It is expected that the sale will last until this evening.
