Now that the notices to, the minei'3 in the Northern coalfield are operating the militant minority among the men is expected to procure the withdrawal of the safety men from tho workings.
Communists are of opinion that they must force owners' hands by letting them see the mines go to ruin unless they make- terms.
Union opinion generally, however, doe 3 «not favour such a step and the central governing authority threatens to deal with unauthorised organisations such as councils of action.
Measures are being taken for the welfare of the ten thousand miners who have received notice. ;
