A KING'S GLOVES
A pair of leather gauntlet' gloves, which belonged to Charles I. havo been presented to the United Service Institution, Whitehall, where they will be hmig over the window through which the King stepped on his way to execution in 1649. The presentation (says the London "Daily Telegraph") was made by Alderman H. M. B. Ker, of Bridgewater,, Somerset, on behalf of the donor, Miss Caroline Elizabeth Landon, of The Grange, Cannington. When King Charles was on the scaffold he handed these gloves, which are richly worked in gold and silver wire, to Bishop Juxon. Afterwards they were bequeathed to various people, and finally came into the possession of the Boy. Robert Eyres Landor, of Warwick, a brother of Walter Savage Landor. He gave them before his death to his niece, Misa Elizabeth Sophia Landor, of Tachbrooke, Warwick, who in turn gave them to her niece, the present donoiy
