The report presented at the annual meeting of, the Shandon Golf Club last week stated that the past year, in view of the fact that the club had only completed its second season on the ground, had.' been most successful.. There was only one year to run before, the landlord's lease expired. After that the Management Committee had every hope of obtaining a lease direct from the Hutt River Board. Then tho absence of dairy stock and the right to mow the fairways), improve bunkers, etc., would place tho club in a happier position. The finances wero satisfactory. -.
The election of officers resulted as follows:—Patron, the Hon. T. M. Wilford (Minister! of Justice and..Defence); president, Mr. W. P. Pringle; virie-presidents, Messrs. W. T. Strand, C. B. Ferguson, V. Cook, J. C; Low, and J. W. Ilodd; committee, Messrs. A. F. Clapcolt, A. W. Free, arid M. G. Eodgers; captain, Mr. J. M. Ellis; lion, secretary, Mr. J. B. Pearson; .hon. 'treasurer, Mr. G. H. A. Ewan; hon. auditor, Mr. C. H. White.
