GOTHIC AMISS
Australian Preaa AuodaUac ' (Received 4th March, 9 a.m.)
MELBOURNE, This Day. Gothic pulled up badly after . the! Nowmarket Handicap on Saturday, and has probably broken down. His owner Mr.- Sol. Green, thinks the horse may not race again. ' . - '
[The above .will be bad' news for those who were looking forward to tho meeting of Gothic and Limerick, and removes one thorny obstacle from the path of the New Zealand champion, Mr. Green still has Strepbon to. carry his colours, and it looks as if the three-^ year-old will be capable of making things interesting at weight for age. 1 For all that; he is no Gothic, and proV viding Limerick remains sound he has a great chance now of adding very considerably to his already great record! without very much trouble. Gothic.' started in tho Newmarket Handicap), with the tremendous load of 10.7, and' considering the quality of the., horse arid the typo of race his owner cannot' be commended for his judgment in risk*; ing a horse like Gothic, who hadf smaller fields to tackle at weight for age.] * ... ■■■••■•"" '■
