KING'S THEATRE.
Tho laughter Is continuous at the King's Theatre during the screening of "Prop and Pep." The picture has for Its background Culver Military Academy, and tho story deals with a young man who enters tho school with a reputation reflected from tho Illustrious deeds of his father on the athlotlc side of tho school life. On account of his early environment It takes the boy somo tlmo to find his foot, and his temporary falluro to Uvo up to "Tiger Hoade's" deeds brings down upon blm the scorn of his school mates. Young "Tiger" sticks to It, however, aftor having a talk with the head, and In the end wins out. The second star featuro of a. woll-balanccd programme Is entitled "Hush Hour," and tho stars aro Mario Provost and Harrison Ford. Heartily sick of tho monotony of her dally routine, which Includes rushing to catch tho ferry every morning and night, and the receiving of presents, all samples, which aro given away free, from her fiance, Don, Margory, longs for an opportunity to see the world- Taking advantage of an opportunity she stows away on a trans-Atlantic liner. She falls In with a pair of "cons," malo and female, who use her In her Innocence as bait for a millionaire. Another of tho "Collegian" aeries and a topical gazotto complete & programme which provides a vory Quo night's entertainment.
When Horaco Anncsley Vachcll wrote "Quinneyn," that delightful romance written around tho professional and domestic career of a successful dealer In antiques, ho managed to Infuso Into the story tho mellow atmosphere wo usually associate with old and beautiful things. The plot covers 20 years—from .Toe Qulnney's marriauo to Susan Blddlecombo to the denouement arising from their daughter's love affair. Pathos and whimsical humour are also infused into the story. A stago play, based on the. novel (with Henry Alnley in tho title role) enjoyed success; now a film, based partly on the book and partly on tho play, has been made so skilfully that a triumph has clearly been achieved by Its producers. The picture will bo shown to-morrow at the King's Theatre. John Longden and Alma Taylor head a distinguished cast. No. 7 Foaturette of the "New Greater Collegians" series heads the supporting programme.
