Winds—Mainly west to south at first; and fresh to strong in and south of Cook Strait; later backing to north-east and north, and freshening In northern districts.
Barometer —Slight fall In northern districts; llttlo movement in the south.
Sens—Rather rough at times In Cook and Foveaux Straits; smooth to moderate elsewhere.
Tides—Good south of East Cape; moderate elsewhere. Weather—-Unsettled 1, with scattered showers in western districts from Taranaki southwards, but mainly fair to cloudy; later becoming sultry with rising temperatures. More generally unsettled weather probable by the week-end.
