NEW ZEALAND ASSOCIATION
The annual'conference of the New Zealand Retail Watchmakers and Jewellers' Association was concluded, at Wellington yesterday. Mr. E. S. Kohn (Auckland) presided, and delegates were present from all parts of tho Dominion. -
Tho annual report stated that the number of financial members at tho beginning of the year was 108. There were 22 resignations, and' two new members joined, making the. present total 88. The finances of tho.'assoeia-. tion were still in a somewhat.unsatisfactory condition. There was'a credit balance of £32 in the income- and ex-, penditure account, but that was due to the fact that no conference was held last year.
The report and balance-sueet were adopted.
Tho election of officers resulted: President, Mr. F. P. Osmond-Smith (Christchurch); executive council, Messrs. H. M. Conway, M. M. Heinniann, H. W. Lloyd, C. H. Sherwood, S. F. M'Lcan,* D. Gillies; secretary, Mr. G. F. Judd.
Satisfaction was expressed with the Government's attitude towards the C.O.D. system of trading, and also with the Opticians Act.
It was resolved that an endeavour be made to obtain two lato shopping nights in each of the weeks of Christinas and New Year,
