EASTBOURNE SERVICES.
The management of the Eastbourne ferry and bus service draws attention to extra special attractions for to-morrow, Sunday. It. J. Webster, the champion swimmer from Auckland, will make an! attempt to'swim the Wellington Harbour, diving off the deck of the Murital at 10.30 a.m. in Wellington, and expects to arrive at Day's Bay early in the afternoon. Special arrangements have been made for all the ferry boats- leaving Wellington to follow the swimmer for a portion of the journey, and every, passenger on board will be given an opportunity of witnessing him in action ii» the water. A special boat will leave Day's Bay at .1.30 p.m. and Kona- Bay; 1.40 p.m. for the purpose of meeting the swimmer and escorting him into Day's Bay. This boat is put on togiva motorists, bus passengers, and residents of Eastbourne, Day's Bay, Petone, and the adjoining bays an equal opportunity with others of seeing Webster during his swim. As Webster is an aspirant for the Cook Strait swim, his success or otherwise to-morrow will throw some light on the future event. Bands have been engaged to play on the boats for the day for the entertainment of tho public. Buses will leave the Library to: suit passengers, and visitors and residents are requested to avail themselves of the round trip—bus out and boat home. The harbour view and scenic bush are unequalled anywhere. Tennis courts,picnic grounds, and miles of sandy beach, are available at both Day's Bay, and Rona Bay.
