AN INTERESTING WEEK.

An intor-State motor-car reliability contest on unusual lines will bo held towards the end of February, coujointly promoted by 'the Boyal Automobile clubs of Victoria and New South Wales. The- Victorian contestants will make an "all day" drive;to Sydney, the 565 miles journey, via Albury to be negotiated within 24 hours. After two days rest in Sydney, the combined Victorian and New South Wales contestants will compete under reliability conditions over a route to be selected between Sydney and Melbourne, which will'bo spread over three or four days' driving—including sub-events. After a short spell in the Victorian, capital, the New South Wales contestants will tako part in a 24-hours run back to Sydney. The "all day" runs between the two capitals will be regarded as separate contests, and carry special awards. In the early days of motoring inter-State rivalry was very keen. It is regarded as a good sign to again see this type of contest being revived, and -if Queensland, South Australian, aiid Tasmanian motorists could bo brought into such a test it would add further interest.
