AUCKLAND, 29th January. Herbert John Adams, single, aged 29, was drowned on the West Coast to-day. While bathing near the mouth of the Waitakere Biver, lie swam out to warn others, who, ho thought, were too far out. On returning, Adams became exhausted, and was unable to regain the beach. Two inent went to Iris rescue, but they bocamo exhausted in the breakers, and had to abandon the attempt. Tho body has not been recovered. Tho deceased had no relatives in jthp JDoniinion, [[ _
