EUGBY, 24th January.'"* • It was stated at Buckingham Palace this morning that there is no change to report in the King's condition, but that tiio progress previously niado .is maintained. It is' not yet decided whether an official bulletin will beissued to-day. There is a hope that only a few more bulletins, issued at intervals of a few days, will be thought necessary before a definite statement regarding the King's convalescent© can bs given. Notices regarding presentations at Court forwarded during the King's illness have now been issued. It is anticipated that the Prince of Wales will act for tho King at levees this season, tho first of which is being held on 26th February. It -is-jeealled that tho Prince acted for the King in. this manner during 1925, when His Majesty was absent on a Mediterranean cruise following liis illness that year. The Queen yesterday received Lady ilumphrys, wife of the British Minister in Kabul, who stayed' to tea with Her Majesty. Lady Humphrys reached London from Afghanistan a fewdays ago.

The King is expected to go to Craigwoil House, at Bognor, to recuperate, about tho be;}inning of tho week after next. The Queen, it is slated, will precede His Majesty, probably arriving at Craigweil House in the middle of next week to supervise the preparations for receiving the King. QUEEN LAYS FOUNDATIONSTONE. The Queen to-day fulfilled the ceremony of laying the foundation-stone- of the new Nurses' Home at Middlesex Hospital. The date originally was fixed for 2nd February, but the ceremony was brought forward because Her Majesty is going to Bognor. Tho Queen had a most enthusiastic reception as she arrived at the hospital, her first public appearance since the King's illness being regarded as gratifying evidence that the upward trend in tho King's condition was well established. It is officially announced that tho Prince of Wales will leave London on. Monday evening to visit tho distressed mining areas in Northumberland and Durham. His visit will be a strictly unofficial one, in the Prince's capacity of patron on tho Lord Mayor's Fund. ' \ No bullotiu regarding the King's health was issued this evening.
