SYDNEY, This Day

Th* Olympic cyclist, J. Standen, who joined the professional ranks a few weeks ago, has been suspended by the Union in Paris until May, 1930.

"Before leaving for tho Games, Standen signed a paper promising to return his expenses, amounting to about £360, in the event of his leaving the amateur ranks within two years.

Tho result of tho suspension means that Standen will lie debarred from competing as a 'professional cyclist in any part of tho world during tho period of tho suspension.
