PEA-SHELLING
Green peas are at their best now. The busy housewife finds the shelling of them an irksome task, especially when one pair of hands has to do all the work of the house. One woman who does all her .own. work passes, on the following wrinkle about shelling peas: Put the peas in a basin. Cover with boiling water. Let ;.them stand for a couple of minutes, and then take hold of one at the top with the thumb, and squeeze downwards with tho first and' second fingers. Tho peas will shoot out quickly. This will turn out to be a very rapid way of getting through a tiresome task.
