CALEDONIAN SPORTS.

Owing to bad weathei- on Boxing Buy, tho Wellington Caledonian Society had to postpone its sports gathering, and as a result, it is stated, the society suffered n loss of about £100. The meeting is now sot down for to-morrow at the Basin "Reserve, other sports bodies in Wellington having come to the assistance of the society in making this possible, and it is hoped to make the gathering the best on record. An appeal is made for generous patronage to assist tho Caledonian Society in furthering the interests of its national games and iv giving stimulus to the sport of amateur athletics and cycling. The programme is on a more comprehensive scale than for any previous meeting, ami the entries constitute a record; The Highland events start at 10..'i0 a.m., the amateur athletic events at 2 p.m., and a special electric light athletic meeting will be held in the evening.
