CALCUTTA DOCKS
EXTENSIVE ADDITIONS United Service. DELHI, 29th December. The Viceroy opened the new King George Dock at Calcutta, providing at present six additional: berths and ultimately thirty additional berths. The cost of the scheme hitherto has been eight and a half crores of rupees. The water area of tho dock is 24 per cent, greater than the Gladstone dock, Liverpool. The construction of tho first quarter of tho full scheme has involved the displacement of : two hundred, million cubic feet of earth.
