licfcrring to the recent cabled report from the United States that the American Customs , officials at San Francisco had been instructed to increase the tariff on Australian butter to equalise the bounty provided under the Paterson Plan, the Prime' Minister (Mr. Bruce) said that the Ministry was considering making representations to the United States. "This is very definite action ■ against Australia," Mr. Bruce added, "and it is certainly necessary that il should be fully .discussed in view of the tremendous trade which the United . States .enjoys with Australia —a trade which is greatly in favour of the United States.'.'
