GOOD PROSPECTS

DEVELOPMENT OF FIJI • (By Telegraph.) (Special to "The Evening Post.") AUCKLAND, 17th December. Provided there are no drastic hurricanes or any other untoward happenings, next year will be one of prosperity for Fiji. This is the opinion of Sir Henry Scott, K.C., of Suva, and a member of the Executive and. Legislative Councils of the colony, who-was a passenger from Sydney by the Niagara yesterday. Sir Henry said that in addition to the £800,000 loan recently- raised by the colony, a further loan of £150,000 was contemplated. This, he thought, could be raised at a reasonable rato of interest within the colony. "The finances of Fiji are in a splendid condition," added Sir Henry, "and so far as I know we have nothing to worry about."
