FRESHENING WINDS
,/ WEATHER LESS SETTLED Winds yesterday were-variable, but by this morning northcrlies prevailed over the greater-part of the Dominion us the centre of tho anti-cyclone crossed the northern part of New Zealand. There, was a tendency this morning for the winds to freshen owing to a fall in the barometer in"the South heralding tlio approach'of a depression from the Tasman Sea. Fine and summerlike weather has continued, although with an increase in cloud in western districts. .... .■•..' j Moderate northerly winds are expected to freshen' inand south of, Cook Strait. Tlie weather should remain fair to fine at first, but-with increasing cloud and gradually 'becoming less settled in western districts'from Tarann.ki southward. '. Warm temperatures may be expected,l especially in the Bast Coast districts.
