TRENTHAM TRACK NOTES

THIS MORNING'S WORK Practically every horse jn training at Trentham was produced this morning and given varying degrees o£ work. The inside of-the trial grass was available and provided excellent going if a little on the easy side Oratrix and Concentrate had their last gallop before leaving for Ellerslie. They were the*only ones to work the reverse way. They galloped a mile in lmin 43sec, the first half in 53sec and the second half in 50sec. Both finished full of running, and it was a pleasing performance. Cimabue, brought home for the last two furlongs by Deluge, dashed over half a mile in 40sce. He showed all his oldtime brilliancy. Diana's Lad galloped a mile in lmin 46 sec, going strongly all the way. Historic, going leisurely round the turn* galloped a mile in lmin 49sec. He went fast at the beginning, and at the end of his gallop pleasing the track watchers. Roi de Val sprinted half a mile in ylsee. Push sprinted three furlongs in 36sec, and did it well. . Tcheka, brought home by Rotowhero, galloped seven furlongs in lmin 31sec. Lady Gay took lmin S^sce to run seven furlongs. Mandarine was of no use to Rory Mor in a gallop' over seven furlongs in lmin 32'^sec. First Mouey was going ,', better than Ducllona iv a sprint over half a mile in .11 2-ssee. Duellona is not a good track worker. The brother-to First Sight, who has done little work, surprised by getting to tho end of half a mile in SOscc. Decoy Bird was kept to easy pace work over two circuits. The six Trentham horses for the Auckland Cup Meeting leave by the special train for Ellerslie to-morrow, viz—Catkin, Tcheka, Tea Queen, Oratrix, Cimabue, and Concentrate. Endorse has not pleased her trainer during the last few days, and will not be raced over the holidays.
