WEDDINGS

A wedding of interest to many iricnds took place at tho beautiful stone Memorial Chapel of St. Oswald (erected by tho parents of the bride at thoir picturesquely situated homo, Wharanui," Marlborough), whon Phyllis May, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Murray, was married to Parker Eoche, son of the late Mr. Warner Westenra, and Mrs. Westenra, of Mansfield avenue, Christchureh. The Bishop of Nelson, assisted by the Rev. Archdeacon York and Canon Kimberley, officiated, and Dr. E. Cooko, of Lincoln, was tho organist. The brido was in a long-sleeved gown of parchment coloured georgette, cut on classical lines, and divided train of same material. She wore a honiton laco veil (over 100 years old) lout by nor cousin Mrs. Critchley. This formed a cap, caught at the side by orange blossoms and completely onveloped her, falling right to the hem of tho train. She carried a sheaf of arum lillies and blue delphiniums. Thero wero fivo small bridesmaids, Mary Critehley, Josophino Murray, Peggy Hutchison, Pam Parsons, and Mary Munro. They wore early Victorian frocks of delphinium' blue brocaded taffeta witli touches of silver lace, tulle caps, and carried small posies, and each wore a pearl necklet— the gift of tho bridegroom. Commander Boyle, E.N., (retired) was best man. Tho church was artistically decorated with white carnations and blue delphiniums intermixed with faint touches of pink Canterbury bells, a hugo bell overhead was composed of similar flowers and colourings. Following tho ceremony the guests wero recoived in tho hall at tho homestead by Mr. and Mrs. Murray, The wedding tea was served in a large marquee erected on tho lawn, and was decorated with baskets of multi-coloured flowers. •Tlifi bride left for the South wearing a soft blue goorgetto frock with silk coat in same shade trimmed with fur. Mrs: Murray (mother of tho brido) woro aji ensemble suit of pale amethyst georgette with satin strappings, and trimmed wit.h soft fur to tono, and black hat. Many of tho guests remained for the dance in tho evening, given by Mr. and Mrs. Murray;,
